Sennen Cove and the surrounding area

SENNEN COVE and Whitesands Bay lie on Cornwall's Atlantic coast 1 mile from Land's End. 

The beach is a minute's walk from the Cottage. It has a huge tidal range, with a vast expanse of sandy beach at low tide, and provides excellent swimming, surfing, canoeing and fishing. Surfboards, paddle boards and wetsuits can be hired in the Cove and surfing instruction arranged.  The beach has RNLI lifeguards in the summer months.

At the Western end of the Cove is the harbour which is home to a number of inshore fishing boats and the Lifeboat Station. Overlooking the harbour is the Round House which displays local arts and crafts. Beyond is the scenic cliff path to Lands End. The Cape Cornwall Golf and Country Club (6 miles from Sennen) has an 18-hole course and many other faciities. The famous open-air Minack Theatre is also nearby with performances throughout the season.

Amenities in Sennen Cove include The Old Success Inn and, in season, cafés/restaurants and a well stocked general store. In Sennen village, there is a weekly market (Tuesday mornings) and a Post Office within the Costcutter store. There are large Tescos, Morrisons and Sainsburys on the outskirts of Penzance, and a Co-Op in the nearby village of St Just. Online shopping can be delivered from Tescos Sainsburys and Morrisons.
